Battery Care & Riding Basics

Build good charging habits, understand certification information and find the right guidance for where you ride.
GWEIT GF26 MAX black step-through electric bike

Make the instructions for your exact bike part of your riding routine. Battery, charger and setup requirements should come from the matching model documentation.

Make charging part of your routine

CPSC advises riders to stay present while charging, avoid charging while asleep or away from home, and use the charger supplied with or recommended by the manufacturer. Follow the charging instructions and disconnect the device when charging is complete.

Read a certification claim carefully

Look for documentation that matches the model you are considering. Certification of an individual component is not the same claim as certification of the complete e-bike electrical system. The linked UL 2849 explainer shows what to look for.

Check your bike before riding

Review the manufacturer’s setup instructions and check for visible damage. If you cannot confirm the assembly or a component’s condition, ask for qualified help before riding. Visit our manuals and assembly page to find the next step for your GWEIT.

Check the rules for your route

Riding access and equipment requirements depend on your location. Consult the relevant transport authority and the operator of any trail, park or transit service you plan to use. This guide does not assign a legal class or permitted riding location to a GWEIT model.
